Threshing Media is the production company of award-winning producer, director, and editor Ryan Sarnowski.
Started in 2013, Threshing Media specializes in documentary-style storytelling and music-focused videos. Whether teaming up with other production companies or working directly with clients and artists, Threshing Media believes shared ideas and healthy debate are always encouraged because collaboration creates more meaningful ideas, deeper communication, and better art. Through his work with Threshing Media, Ryan has shown a proven knack for finding creative solutions for projects complicated with logistical or budgetary constraints and culling beauty and truth from even the scantest material.
Ryan holds a BFA in Film from Florida State University and an MFA in Film and Video from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he specialized in video installation art and documentary filmmaking. After graduating from UWM in 2006, he helped start doc|UWM, a documentary media center designed to give students professional experience producing documentary-based media for non-profit organizations within the community. While at UWM he also taught in the Digital Arts and Journalism departments. He has also served as an adjunct instructor at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design as well as Marquette University.
When he’s not producing video work, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, walking his dog, seeking out new music, and taking photographs.
